Dr. Pabitra Nath is the Co-Founder and the Director of LABDIG Innovations and Systems Private Limited. Dr. Nath is currently acting as a Professor and the Head at the department of Physics, at Tezpur University Assam, India. He has a long track of research experience in the field of smartphone enabled sensing and imaging systems. In connection to this field of research, he has completed several sponsored projects, guided 7 PhD research works, published numerous research papers in leading peer-reviewed journals. Two of his patent disclosures on smartphone-based sensing and imaging systems have recently been granted from Indian patent office (Patent No. 515646 and 523469). In 2022, Dr. Nath along with his team established the LABDIG Innovations and Systems Private Limited with a primary objective to develop alternative analytical tools for health-care and educational research purposes.
Dr. Nath had obtained M. Sc in Physics from Tezpur University and Ph.D. degree from Gauhati University. In 2001, Dr. Nath began his career as a lecturer at Jagiroad College, Assam, India. Before joining Tezpur University, he had served as an assistant professor in the Department of Electronics and Communication Technology at Gauhati University. Based on his research accomplishments, Dr. Nath has received several prestigious fellowships and awards that include BOYSCAST fellowship 2010, INSA bilateral exchange program 2019, JSPS invitational visiting fellowship program 2022. His present field of research interest includes design of a low-cost SERS sensing platform, development of low-cost, user-friendly analytical tools for resource limited settings.
