Grant Support from NEEDP

In 2023, LABDIG Innovations & Systems Pvt. Ltd. received prestigious grant support under the North East Entrepreneurship Development Programme (NEEDP)—an initiative of the North Eastern Council (NEC) in association with IIM Calcutta Innovation Park. The funding was awarded for our proposal, "Triple-Mode Mobile Microscope for Laboratories in Resource-Poor Settings," aimed at developing an affordable, portable, and high-performance microscopic system for educational and laboratory use.

Key Contributions from NEEDP:

  • Pre-Incubation & Mentorship: LABDIG was pre-incubated under NEEDP and received expert mentorship from Dr. Bula Choudhury, Senior Scientist at Guwahati Biotech Park, enhancing our technical and business development strategies.
  • Prototype Development: Successfully developed three working prototypes featuring the following imaging modes:
    • 🔹 Bright-Field (BF): Standard imaging for general laboratory applications.

LABDIG Innovations & Systems Pvt. Ltd. is honored to receive grant support from NRL iDEATION for our project, "Programmable Illumination Multimodal Microscope (PIMM) on Smartphone." This funding has been instrumental in advancing our vision of developing a cost-effective, user-friendly, and field-portable multimodal microscopic system that delivers imaging performance comparable to commercial-grade microscopes.

Project Highlights:

  • Affordable & Accessible Microscopy: Designed to be a low-cost yet high-performance alternative to traditional laboratory microscopes.
  • Multimodal Imaging in One Setup: Enables four imaging modes within a single, smartphone-integrated system:

Grant Support from SELCO and WEP

LABDIG Innovations & Systems Pvt. Ltd. received grant support from SELCO and WEP for the project focused on "Multimodal Microscopy Over Smartphone Using Optical Illumination Techniques." This support has enabled us to develop the first version of an alpha prototype showcasing fluorescence imaging microscopy, further enhancing our smartphone-based multimodal microscopic system.

Project Highlights:

  • Fluorescence Imaging Integration: The project aimed at integrating fluorescence microscopy with a smartphone, enabling real-time, high-resolution fluorescence imaging using commercially available optical components.
  • Optical Illumination Techniques: Emphasizing advanced optical techniques, the system utilizes multiple illumination modalities, providing multimodal imaging capabilities on a smartphone platform.
  • Alpha Prototype Development: The support led to the successful development of an alpha prototype, demonstrating the feasibility and potential of smartphone-based fluorescence imaging microscopy for educational, healthcare, and research applications.

Grant Support from BIRAC’s BIG-NE 2.0 Programme

LABDIG is proud to be a recipient of grant support under BIRAC’s BIG-NE 2.0 programme for our project, "All Phone-Based Multimodal Microscopic System for Laboratory Applications in Resource-Poor Settings." This initiative focuses on developing an affordable, handheld, and user-friendly multimodal imaging system that is universally compatible with any Android smartphone.
